Journal History

CHEDS: Journal of Chemistry Education and Science is a biannual publication by the Program Studi Pendidikan Kimia FKIP Universitas Islam Sumatera Utara (Chemistry Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Islam Sumatera Utara), published June and December each year.

This scientific journal features research findings, ideas, and concepts in the fields of chemistry education, chemical science, and natural sciences. CHEDS aims to provide a platform for the community to share their thoughts, ideas, and findings, fostering innovation and solutions to challenges in education and chemistry.

Established and managed by the Program Studi Pendidikan Kimia since 2017, CHEDS publishes 5 articles per issue in both print and online versions, resulting in 10 articles annually.

Between 2019 and 2021, CHEDS faced publication delays due to a management transition.

Since early 2022, CHEDS has been under new management.

As of February 17, 2022, CHEDS has been indexed in the Garuda Kemdikbud.

Also from February 17, 2022, CHEDS has been registered with Crossref, and each article is assigned a DOI.

CHEDS has been accredited by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia stated in SINTA 5 (Level 5) based on SK No. 105/E/KPT/2022, April 7, 2022.

Since 2023, CHEDS has been indexed in Dimensions and Scilit.
