STRATEGI PENGEMBANGAN MATERI PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM: STUDI DI SEKOLAH MUHAMMADIYAH DAN MASYARAKAT RANTAU PRAPAT

Abstract


This research seeks to reveal the role of Muhammadiyah community and religious organizations in developing materials of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at Muhammadiyah High School 10 and the community in Rantau Prapat. In accordance with the topic of this research, qualitative methods were used by holding interview sessions and involving several school staff and community components. Apart from that, observations were also carried out to find out directly how religious education is being developed in the teaching and learning process at the school. The results show that Islamic religious education material in schools is developed through Islamic understanding which is packaged into Muhammadiyah subject matters. This material is also taught in educational institutions such as Children's Education Parks (TPA), Aisiyah Islamic studies and the mosques. In this way, Muhammadiyah is becoming more widely known in society, even though at a certain stage there are still many people who still adhere to the culture and religious traditions that have been going on, such as tahlilan and reading the qunut prayer at the end of the Shubuh morning prayer rakaat, because Muhammadiyah does not teach this. However, gradually more and more members of society began to accept the patterns of worship as taught by Muhammadiyah.
