OPTIMASI PARAMETER PROSES LASER CUTTING TERHADAP KEKASARAN PERMUKAAN MATERIAL ACRYLICTYPE CLEAR DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN METODE TAGUCHI

Abstract


Laser cutting is one of the alternatives in answering the technological challenges of this era that offers a significant advantage on conventional cutting methods. The background problem of this study is optimization regarding the quality of cutting results from the laser cutting process on acrylic materials.The experiments aimed to get a minimum roughness value, and the method used was the Taguchi method. The parameters used are cutting speeds of 6, 8, 10 (mm/s), laser focus points of 4.6.8 (mm), and gas pressures of 90, 100, 110 (mm/s).The three parameters were varied using Taguchi's experimental design and obtained 9 variations of parameters, after an experiment, the roughness of the cut surface was carried out to obtain the surface roughness value of each parameter variation. The highest roughness value was found in experiment 2 with an average roughness value of 1.015 μm and the lowest roughness value in experiment 7 with an average roughness value of 0.225.After data processing, optimal parameters were obtained, namely gas pressure of 100 mm / s, cutting speed of 8 mm / s and focal point of 8 mm / s and the most dominant influence factor, namely gas pressure parameters with a value of 7,494.
