HUBUNGAN KETAHANAN PANGAN DAN MUTU GIZI KONSUMSI PANGAN (MGP4) KELUARGA DENGAN STATUS GIZI BALITA DI DESA PALU SIBAJI KECAMATAN PANTAI LABU
Abstract
Nutritional problems that often occur in toddler include malnutrition (weight / age), stunting (height / age), wasting (weight / height), over nutrition or obesity and less of vitamin A. Result survey on nutritional status underweight in toddler weight-for-height index (weight / height) based on the national has decreased from three times Riskesdas, in 2007, 2013 and 2018. In 2007, it was 13.6%, down to 12.1% in 2013 and decreased again in 2018 to 10.2%. The emergence of nutritional problems in Indonesia is partly due to weak food security in families.
To determine the relationship between food security and nutritional quality consumtion of family food with nutritional status of children under five year.
This was an observational study with a cross sectional design. The dependent variable: nutritional status of toddler (z-score weight / height) and independent variables: household food security and nutritional quality of household food consumption, confounding variables: parental education, number of family members, total food and non-food expenditure and family income. The research subjects were toddlers aged 13-59 months. The sample was 78 toddlers. Food security is measured by two components, that is the proportion of non-food expenditure and energy intake, while the quality of food nutrition is measured by the average intake of four macro nutrients, that is energy, protein, fat and carbohydrates, height is measured using microtoice and weight is weighed using digital scales. Data analysis with the chi-square test.
The results showed 52.6% of families were food insecurity, 31.0% of families wi quality of food nutrition (MGP4) were not good, the nutritional status of toddler was 6.4% very thin, 21.8% thin, 12.8% fat. Household food security is not significant with the nutritional status of toddler, the nutritional quality of household food consumption is significant with the nutritional status of toddler (z-score weight / height).
