KORELASI ANTARA KEMAMPUAN KOGNITIF DENGAN KARAKTER SISWA PADA PEMBELAJARAN PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM DI SMA KESATRIA MEDAN

Abstract


 This study tries to raise the issue of students' cognitive abilities in relation to sstudents' character building. What mean by the students' cognitive ability is the domain that is the target of learning process with subject of Islamic religious education. In other words, the focus of the discussion in this study is to reveal the students' character in relation to the learning process which emphasizes the cognitive domain in general. This quantitative research involved a sample of 40 students of Kesatria Medan Senior High School (SMA) by distributing questionnaires to all respondents. The results show that there is a correlation between cognitive abilities and student character in subject matter of Islamic religious education at Kesatria Medan Senior High School. Especially in the ability to understand, self-reflect, the ability to carry out and implement something that has been understood in Islamic religious lessons. The characters formed in student personality include honesty, patience, courage, trustworthiness, discipline and maintaining cleanliness.
