Plagiarism Policy

Taushiah: Jurnal Hukum, Pendidikan dan Kemasyarakatan is committed to maintaining academic integrity and preventing plagiarism in scholarly publications. The editorial board strictly prohibits plagiarism and establishes clear procedures for detecting, evaluating, and addressing plagiarism in submitted manuscripts.

All submitted manuscripts are screened using Turnitin similarity detection software before proceeding to the peer-review process. The maximum acceptable similarity index is 20%. Manuscripts exceeding this threshold will be returned to the authors for revision and resubmission or rejected, depending on the nature and severity of the identified similarities.

The similarity index is used as an initial screening indicator and does not automatically determine whether plagiarism has occurred. The editorial team evaluates similarity reports by considering proper citations, quotations, references, and the context of overlapping content.

Levels of Plagiarism and Editorial Actions

1. Minor Plagiarism

A limited portion of a manuscript contains text copied or closely paraphrased from another source without appropriate citation, without involving substantial original ideas or research findings.

Action: Authors will receive a warning and be required to revise the affected text and provide proper citations before further editorial consideration.

2. Intermediate Plagiarism

A substantial portion of a manuscript reproduces or closely paraphrases previously published material without proper acknowledgment of the original source.

Action: The manuscript will be rejected, and the responsible authors may be prohibited from submitting new manuscripts to Taushiah for one year, following editorial evaluation.

3. Severe Plagiarism

A manuscript substantially reproduces original ideas, research findings, data, or significant portions of another publication and presents them as original work.

Action: The manuscript will be rejected, and the responsible authors may be prohibited from submitting new manuscripts to Taushiah for five years, following a thorough editorial investigation.

Author Responsibilities and Ethical Compliance

All authors are responsible for ensuring the originality of their submitted manuscripts, acknowledging all sources appropriately, and complying with the journal's publication ethics and Copyright Policy.

Any allegation of plagiarism will be evaluated fairly by the editorial board in accordance with the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Authors will be given an opportunity to provide clarification before any formal sanctions are imposed.

If plagiarism is identified after publication, the journal may issue a correction, expression of concern, or retraction, depending on the severity of the violation and the findings of the editorial investigation.
